A poodle and a hound
by Victoria Rose
I had a dream
That I was with God.
We weren’t in Heaven,
We weren’t in a place full of sobs.
He took me to a place,
Where the grass was extra green
And there I saw a poodle,
Who was freshly groomed and clean.
The pretty poodle was poised,
Had everything she needs.
She was placed in a little pink purse
Where she never had to beg or plead.
Walked by her a hound
That God had shown to me
“Open your eyes”, he said
“And then you will see.”
I looked at the dog,
Didn’t see a big deal,
Then I looked again,
And saw the poor thing needed to be healed.
The dog had a limp,
And searched for scraps of food.
He looked at the poodle,
Who just sat and chewed.
Had the poodle had known
The hound was even there,
The poodle would have given him
His fair share.

And that’s the End of the Poem
