Conscience
by Walter William Safar
Our conscience,
Like an old fragile pilgrim,
Is in search of the holy land within mankind’s soul,
Because everything is transient,
And only the soul is eternal;
Our conscience,
Like a tired servant to light,
Found its timeless bed in a clear and pure tear;
Our conscience,
Like a centennial explorer of kindness,
Is the voice of the man in the glass:
‘Man, don’t seek happiness in the expanses of power and wealth,
Because real happiness is hidden in the paradise oasis of inner harmony.
– Love, compassion, humility, kindess and integrity
Are travelling the path of dreams,
Like centennial messengers of light;
Love, compassion, humility, kindess and integrity are the
Faithful guides to the paradise land of harmony.
If you want to feel inner harmony,
Look into the sun that is,
Like some heavenly blacksmith,
Dilligently and passionately forging harmony in human souls;
If you want to protect your inner harmony from sin,
From the other dark self,
Find your shield in the light of the soul.’
