Curtis
by Susan King Saunders
a primply prince passed my way
no brighter shining sun that day
i closed my eyes and prayed
Lord let him be my special babe
on Intervale Street
he proved a pal that I’d soon meet
he was sharp and fast on his feet
he had his own syncopated beat
a finer lad you’d never greet
on Intervale Street
he became my spouse; my front seat
he’s gone; but he’s not asleep
he’s still alive; I must not weep
the best friend in heaven’s reach
i found that day on Intervale Stree
