My Aroma
by Abdou Rahman Jallow
On the faces of the clouds, I engrave my strory
that the globe may comprehend my tragedy
days has gone, since I ‘ve been deserted
The sun, the moon, the sky…. all I traded
to get my Aroma in a safer custody
but futile was such an offer, i made with sincerity
When memories of my Aroma rush to my mind
tears will flow like the river Nile
to potray marchless grievance for my great loss
as body has sever tie with weight and balance
though being persistence in the battle for patience
but the strenght of solitude seems to make all worse worst
absolutely sober i feel,
since parting with my Aroma’s intoxicating beauty
will of mine dictate no longer
resting choice in the hand of destiny
like the rose my Aroma was amusing
hard to resist, and charming like the heaven
lovely like the moon, brighter than the sunshine
but all have perished, for perish bound is all life
fresh page not feasible, for the end has not began
in anguish i languish, loss is all i earned
days seem years, for mind and heart have turn blue
a bliss fizzled out, but none seems true
