The clouds made the dusk fuller
As he walked back from the ceremony..
Sermons, memories, adieu to the soul
Tears in vain in filling the void.
Murmurs around but the loved ones quiet..
Held in deep thought.. glances into the past,
A few looks back, at the days spent together..
Unparalleled grief, true love unmasked.
The trees echoing the memory of her laugh
Blue birds flew by chirping in sync,
Tears from the sky joined in the dirge,
Nature mourned the loss of its child.
He just stood and watched all this pass him by..
Words seemingly lost,tears seemingly withheld
He looked up at the moon, it was just as she liked it
Thats when it hit, a sea of tears, a world of sorrow
And now all questions seemed to have no answers
And now all roads seemed to lead nowhere
Now that her time was done, her story complete
Her lifetime of their joy left his lifetime high and dry
Its hard to move on and not look back
To walk on with life as if he were fine
Its hard to let go of all that they had,
To take a new road, to start over, a life
That smile on her face, That smell of her coffee
All of that was reduced to being a memory
One to treasure, hold and cherish forever
A chapter in his life, as his story goes on..
