Andrew Lang (1844–1912) was  a British, Scottish writer,  critic, folklorist,  editor, and a poet.

Lang is best known for his collections of folk and fairy tales, where he compiled and adapted stories from various cultures. His work in folklore, mythology, and literary criticism had a significant impact on the study of these subjects during his time. Some of his well-known works include “The Blue Fairy Book,” “The Red Fairy Book,” and “The Arabian Nights Entertainments.”
