Sonnet 10. She whom I serve to write did not despise
She whom I serve to write did not despise— Few words, but which with wonder filled my sprite How from dark ink, as from springs of delight, Beauty, sweetness, grace, joy and love should rise; Till I remembered, that those fairest eyes Whose beams are joys and love did lend their light, That happy hand, those blessed words did write Which where it toucheth, marks of beauty ties; Those ruby lips, full of nectar divine, A rosy breath sis on the words bestow, That heavenly face did on the paper shine From whose least motion thousand graces flow, And that fair mind the subject did approve, Which is itself, all other praise above.
